Ortiz Says No To HR Derby

David Ortiz told WEEI.com Wednesday that he will not participate in the Home Run Derby at this year's All-Star Game if asked.

"No, man. Last year was it for me," Ortiz said. "I can be the captain if they want me again, but I won't participate. I'll just be cheering for the guys (WEEI)."

Ortiz basically went all Sergeant Murtaugh "I'm too old for this shit", and thank God. I don't want any Red Sox players in this. Gonzo hasn't been the same since, and with everyone on the Red Sox doing their best Mr. Glass impressions I don't even want anyone from the Red Sox in the All-Star game. Honestly, if you're a Red Sox fan don't vote Red Sox into it. Let them rest in a padded room.
