I have to say I wasn't all that pumped about seeing this movie. Marvel has had a lot of let downs, and a lot of the ones that were letdowns were in this movie. Thor was one of the worst superhero movies I had ever seen. The first Hulk movie was so bad they had to redo the franchise and the 2nd one wasn't much better. Iron Man 1 and Captain America were good, and Iron Man 2 was average at best.
So, I had a little hope. I was proved very wrong.
I think what helped this movie was not having to deal with developing ever character. You know who these guys are. Thor is a God, and has a brother who is a dick and always starts shit. Iron Man is an arrogant douche, but is damn cool and one of the smartest guys on the planet. The other smartest guy could be Hulk, but you wouldn't like him if he angry. Captain America is a goody boy. Add in Scarlett Johansson for a nice viewing experience and Hawkeye being a good sniper and BAM you got the makings of a good action movie.
In my eyes there are two ways to make a good superhero movie. One is to go the Batman way, make it dark and real. The other way is to make it an action movie, basically like any Bruce Willis movie. Good action, couple laughs, throw in some explosions and I'm satisfied.
I won't give away any of the movie, but it does cover all 3 of those things. Want to know who I think stole the show? The Hulk by far. Looks like they finally find the right guy to play him and just let him loose for once.
