Crawford Out 3 Months

The Boston Red Sox announced Thursday night that Carl Crawford has a sprained ulnar collateral ligament in his left (throwing) elbow, the injury that often results in Tommy John elbow reconstruction surgery.

But rather than opt for surgery, the team said the outfielder will follow a protocol of more conservative treatment. ESPN

This scares the shit out of me, because I had a similar injury to this and it always acts up, and I wish when I had better insurance I actually went ahead and got the surgery. I'm afraid that Crawford is going to go through the same thing and then be out longer, later by not getting it done. I wish that he just got it done and then this would be over with. I don't want him to be in the OF and throw a ball home and have his elbow blow out. Crawford has been an absolute disaster in Boston so far, but I do feel bad for him. It seems like it's just horrible injury built up on horrible injury.

I hope he comes back and is fine, but I kind of wish he just got the TJ.
